The current challenge of this project was to bend the edges of a drip pan made out of 1.4301 (t=0.8mm) in a way that there is no further work needed and the product is closed to 100%.
Previously the sheets have been lasered, the edges have been bend upwards and with a further step the edges where sealed with a weldseam. This weldseam then had to be polished. Thanks to our new solution, these steps are no longer necessary.
We have divided the bending steps into four stations. Which operate side by side on the press brake station.
Firstly, the sheets are pre-bend in step one and two. It is important to create the desired outline in the die beforehand in order to use ours roll technology in the third step to form the corner in one stroke.
In the fourth step, the excess material will be cut horizontally to the work piece height and with compressed air, the scrap part will be ejected.
